World Cup stats: France’s Olivier Giroud joins Golden Boot debate and makes history in the process

The 2022 World Cup is underway and we already have four players with at least two goals to heat up the race for the Golden Boot. The latest to score is France’s Olivier Giroud — who equaled Thierry Henry for the most goals ever in Les Bleus’ iconic shirt with 51 — during a 4-1 win over Australia in the opening match of the group stage.
