Two child sex offenders arrested during a one-day border crossing in Texas

Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two previously deported child sex offenders on Veterans Day. One of the immigrants arrested while trying to evade arrest, a Salvadoran citizen, has been convicted by a New York court of raping a disabled child.

Uvalde Station agents working on a ranch near an interior border checkpoint on Veterans Day arrested an immigrant who was attempting to evade capture by bypassing the checkpoint. Agents identified the man as 37-year-old Saul Reynaldo Mendoza-Reyes, a Salvadoran national.

A records check revealed a 2012 conviction by a New York court for raping a disabled minor. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) enforcement and removal officers deported the Salvadoran national in 2018.

That same day, Eagle Pass North Station agents arrested a group of ten evading immigrants near Quemado, Texas. During processing, agents identified one of the immigrants as 22-year-old Pedro Ulloa-Cordova, a national of Mexico.

A biometric background check led to the discovery of a felony conviction from a Utah court for child sexual abuse. ICE officers deported the Mexican national most recently in 2021, officials said.

The two previously deported sex offenders were among nearly 10,000 immigrants apprehended in this area of the border in the past week.

Del Rio Precinct Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens tweeted a video report listing the arrest of 9,962 immigrants in a single week. In addition, another 2,429 migrants are counted as known fugitives.

Agents managed to intercept 79 shipments of migrants and arrested 18 large groups. Sector Del Rio continues to lead Border Patrol sectors in apprehending large groups.

Agents in that area arrested about 42,000 immigrants in October. That’s about 50 percent higher than in October 2021, Breitbart Texas reported.
