Wordle Wordle burning bright.
In the puzzles of the night;
What an immortal hand you see
Shall I play you first and then Spelling Bee?
In what distant depths or skies
Can we guess in just six tries?
On what wings do we dare to aspire
Guess again or we’re out?
What the drill? what the chain,
What furnace were you in? brain?
What the anvil? what fear grip?
These words have five letters and the same brooch!
Ok I’ll stop. I thought to myself ‘Wordle Wordle’ and then bam by William Blake The Tiger popped into my brain and I thought to myself, “Oh, I bet I could turn that weird poem into a Wordle poem! But it turns out there’s not that much to work with here.
Seriously though, some great five letter words in the last stanza for your future speculation. This is a very good reason to read more poetry. You’ll find great vocabulary to help with Wordle and other puzzle games!
Come on let’s do it!
Today’s Wordle Solution (with Spoilers!)
The hint: He was once framed as a type of devil that could capture one’s very soul!
The Clue: This word has a double vowel in it.
Like this hint? Not only were people once suspicious—and superstitious—about photographs, believing that their souls could be imprisoned in the photograph, I also included two very large hints in my wording. I said the answer once was “framing” and could “capture” one’s soul—words very closely related to photography.
Anyway, I was pretty lucky today and I did it really fast. Flood was an attempt to use a word so close to Wordle Bot’s favorite—shale-without being terribly dull and using what everyone else is using. He narrowed the field down to just 6 remaining possible guesses, which aren’t half bad.
I thought about trying “T” and “R” words but decided to try to eliminate some letters. Ghoul it would allow me to check two more vowels and the ‘H’ which could match either a “P” or a “T” very nicely. This was a good guess, reducing the total possibilities to just one, although I didn’t realize it until later.
However, I knew the word had WARM in the middle and as soon as I popped the ‘P’ in front (the only part that made sense) I knew it had to be a photo. You can’t spell photo without hot, as they say! (Is that what they call it?)
I beat the Wordle Bot again today. guess what slate / brine / slogan / photo which was just spectacularly worse than my guesses so there!
Huzzah for me and Huzzah for you! Huzzah for your awesome symmetry! Be well, Wordlers!
