Modern Warfare 2’s Breenbergh Hotel map could lead to a lawsuit

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II It’s not unheard of to get public attention even with things like fast food chains partnering with people learning how to get them, though a question could be asked if some special attention might not be the most desirable. Unfortunately, there were indeed many correct views based on the map of the Breenbergh Hotel and the general building included in the game. The hotel featured in the game is inspired by the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam, and you could say it’s pretty close to a carbon copy — especially the exterior. A lawsuit can now be addressed for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Breenbergh Hotel.

The five-star Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam has built an excellent reputation over its many years of operation. It’s a luxury destination for many to travel to, and so it’s no surprise that many people quickly recognized the similarities between the Breenbergh Hotel and its real-life counterpart. Conservatorium Hotel manager Roy Tomassen said:

“We have taken into account the fact that the Conservatorium Hotel is unwelcomely the scene of the new Call of Duty… in general, we do not support games that appear to encourage the use of violence. The game in no way reflects our core values and we regret our obvious and unwanted involvement.”

So far no legal action has been taken, but it is very likely if the management of the Conservatorium Hotel decide to take action. It is clear why there are some problems with the hotel featured in the game. Bullets slicing through the glass of a really real hotel doesn’t set the best tone for guests exiting the Conservatorium Hotel. Both Activision and the management of the Conservatory will hopefully be able to settle the issues between themselves without the use of a lawsuit.

If a lawsuit had been filed over the use of the Conservatorium Hotel, what would have happened to the game?

One question many people may have about this whole situation is what would actually happen internally within the game if legal action was taken regarding the use of the hotel. It’s unknown at this second what the changes to the experience would be — if any — but changes to the design of the Breenbergh Hotel may be in the cards. If there was serious action, it could even lead to the removal of the Breenbergh Hotel map entirely from multiplayer.

While you are busy learning how to get the Orion Camo into the game, remember that the time you spent grinding for this camo on the Breenbergh Hotel map may unfortunately not be there for much longer if any action is taken.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is currently available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
