Players are asking for the Orion Ultimate Mastery Camo in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to have much faster animation.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 brings a new camo unlockable level to the franchise, the Orion camo, but players aren’t happy with it. Players who can unlock the three lowest camo tiers, including Gold, Platinum, and Polyatomic, will automatically earn Orion camo for all of their weapons. Some players are calling for Orion camo to be changed as in its current form Orion camo ultimate mastery is a disappointing end to his grind Modern Warfare 2 challenges.
Unlockable camo skins for player weapons have been a feature of the franchise since the beginning Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in 2007. Traditionally, players must complete weapon-specific challenges such as “get 50 headshots” or “score 250 assists” with each weapon to unlock increasingly rare camo designs. Basic attachments make weapon challenges easier, but Modern Warfare 2Gunsmith’s new Gunsmith system makes unlocking weapon parts take longer than ever, and as a result, completing certain challenges for the new skins also takes longer.
The new Orion Mastery camo requires completing each challenge for 51 different weapons that require a significant amount of gameplay and player skill. Winning every cameo Modern Warfare 2 should be an achievement worth celebrating, but those earning the Orion camo have been disappointed with how the new camo appears during gameplay. The Orion camo is supposed to be animated in a galaxy-inspired swirling pattern, but as pointed out on Reddit by user ru5tysn4k3, the animation is so slow that it appears to be static.
The video posted on Reddit shows Orion’s animation speeding up by 16 times, and even at that speed the swirling pattern of galaxies barely moves on the weapon’s surface. Without a significantly sped-up animation, Orion camo looks similar to lower-tier camo with some players surprised that Orion camo is supposed to move at all. A slow animation speed isn’t as noticeable as some other weapon issues, including Activision’s weapon tuning being temporarily disabled, but some Modern Warfare 2 Fans are expressing a preference for the return of Damascus skins from older games.
Modern Warfare 2 Players commenting on ru5tysn4k3’s video currently prefer the Polyatomic camo over the Orion camo. One witty user even mentions that in its current form the Orion camo is as barely noticeable as Drax the Destroyer because it moves so slowly. Casual players report bugs while playing Modern Warfare 2 So adjusting the animation speed for the Orion camo isn’t known to be high on Infinity Ward’s post-launch priority list, but until then, players will continue to be disappointed with the reward for showing off their weapon mastery. .
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
