News

You can now fly the iconic tilt-rotor military aircraft in MSFS.

Miltech Simulations has released a brand new aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator and it’s a very iconic entry in the sim series.

The new addition is the MV-22B Osprey tilt-rotor military aircraft, basically a hybrid between a plane and a helicopter.

It’s available on Orbx Direct for $32.64 and comes with full tilt rotor functionality and the ability to display wings and rotors for parking on the deck of an aircraft carrier.

See what you get in the package, over 8 different liveries.

Characteristics:

  • It was developed in collaboration with the talented aircraft manufacturer Maryadi
  • The most detailed and complete representation of the MV-22B Osprey ever created for a Flight Simulator consumer.
  • Accurate exterior model, as well as interior cockpit model, based on aircraft flight manual and references.
  • Alternate automatic door and ramp operation based on flight condition.
  • Authentic interior and exterior night lighting, including Osprey’s iconic Blade Tip lights.
  • Custom sounds.
  • Handcrafted Liveries included.

Cockpit and systems:

  • Complete simulation of the aircraft’s instrument and systems. All instruments are custom coded to match their real counterparts.
  • Realistic manual operation of motor spindles based on airspeed, according to the real counterpart.
  • Full simulation of BFWS (Blade Fold and Wing Stow) procedures.
  • Accurate simulation of Auto-Hover, Auto-Flaps and custom Autopilot coding.

Flight Dynamics and Engine Systems:

  • Customized VTOL/STOL flight dynamics, including realistic aircraft handling behavior when the engine spindles are moving.
  • Fully simulated Vortex Ring condition: Dangerous aerodynamic stall condition leading to uncontrolled descent of the aircraft.
  • Accurate simulation of the drive train connecting both receptacles, allowing 1 engine operation with reduced efficiency.
  • Engine overdrive limitations as per actual aircraft – engines cannot maintain full throttle for long periods of time.

Below you can enjoy a trailer and some screenshots.

Accompanying the Osprey pack, Miltech Simulations has also released a second add-on titled “Amphibious Ready Group”, adding multiple landing craft for your Osprey operations.

Of course, they will work with other helicopters, even aircraft like the F-35 Lightning II.
