Marvel’s Avengers players still want War Machine to be added

While Marvel’s Avengers features some of Marvel’s marquee names that players can feel heroic with, some players are hoping that another flying armor clad hero will join the team – War Machine. The game currently features several heroes who are already extremely similar, from Clint Barton and Kate Bishop to Thor and Jane Foster. It’s not out of the realm of possibility for Crystal Dynamics to give a similar alternative to Iron Man in the form of one of his closest friends and allies.

Marvel’s Avengers originally launched with a roster of just six heroes for players to take control of – Captain America, Iron Man, Hulk, Black Widow, Thor and Ms. Marvel. Subsequent DLC and updates have expanded the roster, bringing it to 11 playable heroes at the time of writing this report, including Clint Barton, Kate Bishop, Jane Foster’s Thor, Black Panther and Spider-Man. As for who’s next, Crystal Dynamics has confirmed that the next member of the team will be Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier, who will be joining as part of a future content update.

When it comes to War Machine, there are quite a few gamers online who are hoping that Colonel James Rhodes will make his way into the game sooner rather than later. One such player is Reddit user oldmansavage12, who shared his hope that War Machine would be added Marvel’s Avengers after adding The Winter Soldier. Oldmansavage12 gave his hope with some humor, channeling 90s favorites X Men animated series to share his hopes for War Machine.

War Machine, as mentioned above, is the nickname of Colonel James Rhodes when piloting the Iron Man variant suit given to him by Tony Stark in the comics. Compared to Stark’s Iron Man suits, Rhodes’ War Machine has a gray/silver color and is heavily armed, mostly with one- to two-shoulder weapons such as chainguns, rocket launchers, and energy blasters. Rhodes is currently portrayed by Don Cheadle in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, taking over the role in Iron Man 2 following contract disputes with Terrence Howard and is set to be the focus of the MCU’s first feature film in the upcoming Armor Wars.

As for his possible position Marvel’s Avengers, players can argue that War Machine could be one of the next featured heroes. The game’s roster, like the comics, highlights how two heroes can share the same name but still offer their own spin on it, such as Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor channeling her future as a Valkyrie using Undrajarn’s All-Weapon as part of her ultimate. attack. War Machine, by comparison, could be easier to design a more unique set of abilities due to its focus on ranged and heavy weapons.

Marvel’s Avengers is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
